The Mellow Hog Rasp - Half round 12" (300mm) G6
A Mellow Hog is a calmer version of its aggressive brother The Hog. The difference between the cut of the 2 rasps can be seen in the photos.
The original Hog has the coarsest cut for hand rasps made by Forge de Saint Juery at cut 3 (cut = stitch).
The Hog is a great tool for reducing roughed out blanks for cabriole legs and guitar necks at great speed but retaining precision. The Hog has a tapered half round section.
The Mellow Hog has the same dimensions as the Hog. Many customers prefer this shape over the wider, flatter cabinet makers rasps of the same length. So we decided to offer The Hog with a gentler cut - CUT 6.
This cut is still coarse as this shape is very good for reducing stock to a defined line. It is just not as aggressive as its bigger nastier brother The Hog.

Order Notes
Orders that include [Special Order] rasps may add 2-5 weeks to the delivery time. Where combined with standard range tools the whole order will not be shipped until complete. These include the left handed options and some superfine cabinet rasps.
