AURIOU - STONEMASON'S TOOLS

Few people outside of France realise that Auriou are equally well known for their stone masons tools as for their hand stitched rasps and other fine free forged hand tools..

Auriou forge these tools using traditional blacksmithing techniques from high carbon steel. The shank is sturdy square stock with rounded corners and these tools are supplied with double ferrule handles.

These tools are "firesharp" tools for use on soft stone and marble. They are not acrbide tipped and therefore unsuitable for use on granite and sandstone.

Auriou Stonemasons Chisels

The chisels are fitted with ash handles with 2 steel hoops to prevent the handle from splitting when hit with a hammer.

Choice of width from 10mm to 60mm.

The teeth on the chisels are square ended (not pointed).
